The 2nd NZ Mastiff Club Championship Show

It is nearly time for our 2nd Championship Show, to be held in conjunction with the NZKC National Dog Show in April at Manfeild Park in Feilding

The show is going to be on Friday 29 April – the timing on the day is yet to be finally confirmed by the NZKC as we are sharing the ring with another club. Because the members of that club are exhibiting in the Nationals on the same day, they wish to exhibit first so our anticipated kick off is at 10am. We will let you all know a definitive time once known. (Link to the venue website).

Entries close on 2 April, so there is still time to enter. However as time is very short, if there are any members who want to enter, could they please contact either in the first instance:

Norma Shelley (Show Secretary) on hessenfield@xtra.co.nz  or phone 03 327 9500 or
Hilary Stace on hilary.mastiff@paradise.net.nz  or phone 03 942 8433.

Please consider entering! If you not able to enter but can come and support our dogs, that would be fantastic as well.

The Mastiffs that are entered in the National Dog Show itself will be appearing on Saturday 30 April – the time that they are showing will not be known until about a week before, but again we will advise as soon as we know.

I know from my conversations with some of you that people may not be sure about how to go about entering – you need to be a member of the NZKC to enter our show, but you can arrange this over the phone with the NZKC with your credit card if need be. In terms of your entry to our show, please contact one of the ladies above for more information.

After the Show, (which should be about 12ish) we are going to have a bit of a social get together. If the weather is fine, we are going to meet at nearby Johnson park (see link to Map).
This will allow us to mix and mingle with our dogs.

If the weather is bad, we intend having lunch at a café in the township. Unfortunately because of the vagaries of the weather we will need to make a call on the day.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Alison Wallis
Club Secretary.
